My Pork Schnitzel Recipe has been a part of my cafe menu for quite a long time and it never failed our customers when it comes to flavor and satisfaction. It has been in the Top 5 best sellers at our cafe next to Chicken Ala Kiev, Salted Egg Tomato Pesto, Spicy Tuna Panini, and Bolognese Pasta (recipes on my future posts.) This recipe is not as complicated as it looks.

*A little trivia, Schnitzel is a German term for thin slices of meat coated in breadcrumbs and then fried.

 Yield: 3 servings

Ingredients:

For the Pork:

  • 3 slices of Pork Chops, butterfly cut
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 cup of Japanese Bread Crumbs
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking Oil for Frying (Deep-Fry)
  • You will also need a meat tenderizer/kitchen hammer

For the Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup all purpose cream
  • 1 tbsp. mayonnaise
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • salt and pepper to taste

Procedure:

  1. Tenderize the meat into thin slices with the use of your kitchen hammer. (The thinner the better)
  2. In 3 separate bowls, prepare flour, egg, and breadcrumbs separately. (Standard Breading Procedure)
  3. Season your pork slices with salt and pepper.
  4. Dredge seasoned pork into flour.
  5. Dip pork into egg to make the breadcrumbs stick to the pork.
  6. Dredge pork into Japanese Bread Crumbs.
  7. To make the pork extra crispy and crunchy, freeze for about an hour.
  8. Deep-Fry pork cutlets until cooked through.
  9. While waiting for  the pork to cook, prepare your creamy garlic sauce.
  10. Combine all sauce ingredients  in a bowl.
  11. Serve fried Pork Schnitzels with white rice and top with Creamy Garlic Sauce.
  12. Garnish with parsley or dill leaves.
  13. Enjoy!~
