If there would be things that would bring me back to my travel in Korea, it would always be the streets I see in K-Dramas, authentic Korean Kimchi, Banana Milk, Spicy Ramyun (korean noodles), pickled radishes, soju, and KOREAN FRIED CHICKEN! I am a sucker for anything Korean especially those crispy messy good stuff that goes well with beer or rice wine.

The ultimate Korean throwback.

Ever since the Korean Drama and Korean Pop Culture emerged in the Philippines, a great deal of restaurant chains have opened introducing Samgyupsal (Korean Barbecue), Korean Fried Chicken and Beer, Korean Ramyun (spicy noodles), and Korean All-You-Can-Eat Buffets. Filipinos have diversified their taste buds, and the cravings for Korean food has been stronger than ever. The influence of our favorite oppas is mightier than anything! I love you, Park Seo Jun, Park Bo Gum, Lee Jeong Suk… the list never ends!

I had a slice of authentic Korean Fried Chicken for my lunch today, delivered right at my doorstep by the very kind business-owners themselves. And just like any food that I try the first time, I had to take quick snapshots. I was so excited to try all the flavors while taking the photos. The first thing in my mind was getting a cold bottle of soju or beer to pair with it, and because I am such a “Fil-Kor” (feeling Korean. Hahaha) I was ever ready!

INTRODUCING KPOP CHIXX

These amazing babies arrived to me like heaven-sent with a complimentary mini-cup of Chicken Mu (a traditional Korean Fried Chicken Side Dish, consisting of raddish, carrots, and cabbage, usually pickled in sweet rice vinegar). The Classic Dakganjeong, Snowee Cheese, and Hot Hot Gangnam Style are the flagship flavors of KPop Chixx. These are just a few of the flavors they offer. They are not just pleasing in the eyes, but pleasing in the palate too!

THE VERDICT

I CANNOT DECIDE WHICH ONE IS MY FAVORITE! As I tasted each one of it, I was about to get ready and say “Oh, this one is better than that one” but I was wrong. The flavors all have their own individuality in a very good way!

SNOWEE CHEESE

SNOWEE CHEESE is crispy and tender, tossed in flavorful cheese. Unlike any cheese flavored Korean Fried Chicken I have tried which tends to be on the salty end sometimes, KPop Chixx’s version is well-balanced and doesn’t leave a salty-sting on the tongue.

THE CLASSIC DAKGANGJEONG

CLASSIC DAKGANGJEONG is an original Korean flavor, glazed with sticky sweet sauce, topped with Cashew Nuts. I don’t mind the mess at all!

HOT HOT GANGNAM STYLE

HOT HOT GANGNAM STYLE is probably the best flavor to pair with Soju. The spiciness is not overwhelming. We all know it when Koreans say “spicy”, it’s literally a bomb exploding in your mouth. But KPop Chixx’s version is mild and balanced.

MENU AND ORDERING AT KPOP CHIXX

I have yet to try the rest of the flavors. KPop Chixx makes it very convenient to have our favorite Chicken and Beer night in the comforts of our own homes.
